Caseificio Colline di Selvapiana e Canossa, registration number 417, previously named “Latteria Sociale Selvapiana”,is located in Selvapiana, in the municipality of Canossa, in the province of Reggio Emilia, in the foothills of the mountains, where memories of the mediaeval adventures of Countess Matilda of Canossa and the Emperor Henry IV still linger in the air.

Perched on a hilltop and thus considered to be in the hills, the factory sits at an altitude of 500m a.s.l., in an excellent position from the point of view of climate and environment for the Parmigiano Reggiano to age perfectly. The fresh fodder from the hills that the cows are fed on, combined with the particularly cool, rainy climate, guarantee the production of a cheese with impressive qualities.
